Dadfest

June 15/16, 2013

We will not be having Elevate services this weekend.  It’s Father’s Day weekend, and we want you to attend church with your family.  We’d love to see you after service, though, because we’ll be having a blast outside at Dadfest!  We’ll have a special Elevate section out by the lake after each of the services.  Bring your family over and hang out with us.

Fruit Ninja- week 2

Fruit Ninja- week 1

This is a big week in Elevate! First of all- we’re kicking off a new series in Elevate called Fruit Ninja (ninja not included…)  Along with a new series, we’re welcoming new 6th graders to Elevate.  If you will be in the 6th grade during the 2013-2014 school year, you should start attending Elevate this weekend. Last but not least- for the first time ever we are opening the new addition to our space, The Loft.  This new room, which you will access through a staircase within Elevate, will be a great place to hang out and have fun with your friends before the worship service starts.  Try to get here a few minutes early so you can check out the new space!

Memorial Day Weekend- No Elevate

May 25/26, 2013

There will be NO ELEVATE this weekend, because of Memorial Day on Monday.  If you’re in town, you should definitely attend service with your family!  Next week, June 1/2, we’ll be kicking off a new series in Elevate titled “Fruit Ninja (ninja not included…)” What on earth is that series about?!  You’ll have to be here to find out.  In the meantime- be sure to sign up for Collide. See you June 1/2!

Reckless

May 18/19, 2013

This weekend at Elevate, Scott will be teaching from Numbers on the experience of Balaam, whose behavior God called “reckless.”  What does it look like we when we act reckless and what would God say to that behavior?  In addition to an awesome message from Scott, we’ll be welcoming new 6th graders from Promiseland who will be visiting our service.  It’s also the last small group of the school year in Elevate so be sure to thank your leader for all they’ve done this year!  8th graders- remember that you are to attend Student Impact this weekend for the 11:15 service.

Mother's Day

We will NOT BE HAVING ELEVATE THIS WEEKEND.  We’re always a little disappointed when we don’t meet, but this weekend is Mother’s Day!  Make your mom a card, give her a hug, and sit with her in church!  We’ll see you back in Elevate May 18/19.  That weekend will be the last time small groups meet this school year…In the meantime- don’t forget to sign up for Collide!

8th Grade Weekend

May 4/5

This weekend at Elevate we are celebrating all of our fantastic 8th graders!  It’s hard to believe, but this is 8th graders last weekend with us as students in Elevate before they move up to Student Impact.  The program will be lead almost entirely by 8th graders, and the message time will consist of 8th grade students sharing what God has done in their life over the last three years.  For 6th/7th graders- this is a great weekend to get a glimpse of what your future in Elevate may look like.  And for all students- we’re going to have a lot of fun!  Hope to see you there.

Celebration of Hope 2

This is a special weekend in Elevate, as we’ll be participating in Seed Packing at all of our services.  As part of Willow’s Celebration of Hope initiative, our church is working together to pack thousands of seeds that will be shipped to ministry partners around the globe.  The food that families grow from the seeds they receive can literally change their lives.  Join us this weekend, bring a friend, and help make a difference in someone’s life!

This weekend Elevate is kicking off of our Celebration of Hope series.  We’ll spend the next three weeks looking at what the Bible says about compassion and talking about how we can make a difference in the world around us.  Matt will kick things off by looking at how the way we treat other people is connected to our relationship with God.  Hope to see you here!

Impact Visits Elevate

April 13/14, 2013

This weekend is a special one at Elevate.  Student Impact Director Bryan Jones will be teaching on common misconceptions people have about God.  It will be a great program for all Elevate students, and it will be a particularly important weekend for 8th graders.   6th and 7th graders will have small group time like a normal weekend, and 8th graders will go with their groups to an info meeting to hear more about what’s coming in Student Impact this summer.  Hope to see you this weekend!

Communion

April 6/7

Elevate is back this weekend!  Scott will teaching on Communion.  This is something we teach on every spring in Elevate, and we think it’s important for Jr. High students to understand what Communion is all about.  At the end of the teaching, we’ll have an opportunity to take Communion together.  Hope to see you this weekend!

Easter-ish

March 23/24

This weekend at Elevate, we’ll be doing our own Jr. High version of an Easter service.  We’ll have some fun and eat some candy, but most importantly we’ll discuss what Easter is really about- celebrating the resurrection of Jesus!  It’s going to be a great weekend, and we hope to see you there!

Baptism Weekend

March 16/17

This is an exciting weekend at Elevate!  First of all, Friday is Pineapple Mayhem.  If you need details, click on the “Pineapple Mayhem” tab on the left side of this page.  Over the weekend Elevate will be sitting in section 309 of the main auditorium to celebrate Willow’s baptism services.  We’ll open to the doors to the Activity Center at 5:00pm Saturday/8:30am Sunday/10:45 Sunday and then walk over to the main auditorium together right before service begins.

More Than Mayhem Week 3

March 9/10

 This week Matt will be wrapping up our More Than Mayhem series.  By this time, you probably know what evangelism is and how you can get started.  What do you do, though, if you’re nervous?  When evangelism feels risky, we should remember that God is with us!  This weekend we’ll unpack what that means, especially as we get ready for Pineapple Mayhem.

More Than Mayhem Week 2

This week we are continuing our More Than Mayhem series.  Last week we talked about the importance of knowing what our friends think about God.  This week we’ll be challenged to take some chances and try to have some spiritual conversations with our friends.  Think of it like “knocking on a door.”  Matt and Scott will be team teaching this together through video.  It’s going to be a blast, and we hope to see you there!

More Than Mayhem Week 1

February 22/23

This weekend we’ll be kicking off a new series at Elevate, More Than Mayhem.  As you probably know, in a few weeks we have a crazy fun event called Pineapple Mayhem.  But do you know WHY we do Mayhem?  It’s one way we participate in evangelism, something God calls all Jesus followers to do.  This week Scott will explain what evangelism is and challenge us to think about how we listen to our friends when we approach them about God.

LoveStruck Week 3

We’ve been talking about how God made both genders, and called it GOOD!    But when it comes to sexuality, there are very dangerous traps that exist in our world.   This week we’ll be talking about what some of those traps are — and how we can avoid them!

LoveStruck Week 2

This week we’re excited to continue our LoveStruck series!  We’ll start the service in the Activity Center like a normal weekend, but after worship guys and girls will split up for two different messages.  Gretchen will talk to the girls about what it looks like to be  a Godly woman, and Matt will be talking to the guys about being a Godly man.  Hope to see you this weekend!

LoveStruck Week 1

This week Elevate is kicking off a new series called LoveStruck.  We’re going to spend the next three weeks looking at what God’s word says about relationships with the opposite sex and how we can pursue His wisdom in this area.  Scott will be talking this week about dating and the idea that we need to “guard our heart.”  Come and learn about what guarding a heart means…and have some fun like we always do!!!
