Worship

Here at Elevate we do this thing called Worship. One of the ways we worship is by singing songs and talking to God here in our service. It’s a way that we can show God that were grateful for what He’s done for us.  Now  I know what you’re thinking, this can be kind of weird for somebody who may be viewing it from the outside- seeing people with their eyes closed and their hands up in the air, but for some people worshiping through music is one of the best ways to connect with God. There are many other ways to worship, but today we are going to talk about worshiping through music.

Psalm 100:1-5 (NLT) says:
“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!
Worship the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing with joy.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God!
He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving;
go into his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love continues forever,
and his faithfulness continues to each generation.”
You might be asking yourself, “What if i can’t sing? That can’t be pleasing to God!” But don’t ignore the rest of the passage- worship is all about realizing that God is God! He is in control of all of your painful situations and because you know that God is loving you can worship or praise Him through those hard times. You can also worship God for all of the good things in your life because all good things come from Him. Worship is all about giving God praise and thanks for being such a great God.
